UK Men Use Personal Loans for Cosmetic Surgeries

In the UK nearly five million in personal loans has been taken out for the purpose of cosmetic surgery. The average loan for cosmetic surgery is about 6,500 according to the Sainsbury's Bank. Although perhaps the most interesting fact is that a fifth of these personal loans are taken out by men for the purpose of cosmetic surgery. As such procedures become more acceptable for men the thought of cosmetic surgery for men is becoming much more popular.

The Sainsbury's Bank also stated that from 2001 to 2006 there was a 240 percent increase in those looking to get personal loans for cosmetic surgery. The bank predicts that by 2009 UK adults will be making at least a million trips to cosmetic surgeons each year.

However, since cosmetic surgeries are very expensive it is always advisable that individuals try to find the best rate they can before applying for a personal loan. This way they won't have to borrow a larger amount of money and can have an easier time trying to pay it back later.

The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons stated that in 2005 their members performed over twenty-two thousand cosmetic surgeries. The most popular operations included botox, breast enlargement, facelifts, tummy tucks, vein-zapping, rhioplasties or nose jobs, eye and ear changes.
